GETTING STARTED

Where Should We Begin?

I am happy to arrange a consultation over the phone and, if we agree, an initial appointment at no charge. During that first appointment, we will do our best to decide whether we're the right fit. Therapist shopping is a process and you have the right to get to know me and my style before committing to anything.

If we enter into a working relationship, we'll find a time to meet at least once per week (some clients come in multiple times per week, and I am very open to that) and we will agree upon a fee.

Although I am not enrolled in any insurance panels, some insurance plans will reimburse a portion of the cost for out-of-network outpatient mental-health-care providers. I am happy to provide monthly invoices in a "superbill" format for you to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement.

A word about the Covid situation: I'm seeing vaccinated patients in person in my Berkeley office, if they wish, but am also accommodating patients' wishes to see me remotely.

Finally, if we enter into a working relationship, you have the right to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" explaining how much your mental-health care will cost.
